Our economy surpassed $2 trillion in 2021. We are home to more than 50 of the Fortune 500 and more than 400 of the fastest-growing companies in America. We are the 8th largest economy in the entire world.
Texan leaders made astute investments in information technology, oil and natural gas, aerospace, defense, biomedical research, fuel processing, electric power, agriculture, and advanced manufacturing to build Texas.
To develop and provide the brainpower for these industries, we invested in institutions of higher education and research, which produces the state’s highly educated leaders and citizens. We know higher education is vital to the state’s success.
The Texas Alternatives Foundation wants to keep our boom booming by turning illiquid assets - like stakes in limited partnerships, general partnerships, and privately held businesses - into philanthropic capital.
We are working with donors to build a billion-dollar fund of closely-held shares in Texas’ most prized ventures, partnerships, and other illiquid assets. As assets exit, the cash generated supports transformative education, arts, scholarship, and research. A donation to our fund is an investment in the state’s future leaders and economy.
By contributing illiquid assets to our fund, donors join a robust network of Texas’ most successful investors, founders, owners, and operators. This tightly-knit group of Texas leaders is committed to working together to leave a legacy of impact.
